For people who are experiencing a worsening memory or difficulty thinking, it can be difficult to know where and who to talk to. But a new group coming to Holt has been created for just that, and seeks to help group members get their confidence back.
The Aylsham and District Care Trust (ACT) will be bringing Cognitive Stimulation Therapy to Holt, which can have a positive impace on symptoms including difficulties in problem solving and communication.
The (ACT) has been providing CST groups at Aylsham for over four years and is now working with Victory Housing on a project to improve access to this therapy across North Norfolk, with groups already running in North Walsham and Cromer.
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy is a therapy for people with mild to moderate Dementia, developed at University College London by a team of psychological researchers.
It is shown in research to have appositive impact on people's levels of communication, cognition and quality of life.
The Holt group will run on a Tuesday afternoon and will be held in the meeting room at Carola Sutton Court in Kerridge Way, near Budgen's of Holt.
The start date is to be confirmed.
