An Indian restaurant in Holt has been upgraded from a zero food hygiene rating to a four, following an inspection on April 18.

Taste of India in Bull Street was previously visited in January when an officer from North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) found that major improvements were necessary.

Mabs Rahman, the owner of the restaurant, asked for the council to return and re-rate them, and said: “I am delighted and proud that, through hard work and dedication, we have achieved a high food hygiene rating.

“We now have procedures in place to make sure we maintain high standards of food hygiene so that this does not happen again, and, rest assured, our customers can enjoy dining here, expecting high standards and getting them.”

A spokesman for NNDC confirmed the restaurant had been given a food hygiene rating of four, which will soon be updated on the Food Standards Agency website.
