A fire in woodland in Hevingham could take a further two days to extinguish the fire service has said.

Firefighters were called to the fire, in an area of undergrowth measuring roughly 500sq m on Forestry Commission land, just before 5pm on Sunday after a member of the public raised the alarm.

Initially ten crews fought the fire, including teams from Sprowston, Norwich, Earlham, Cromer, Sheringham and Wroxham, using water jets and beaters.

Six crews returned during the day on Monday to carry on with dampening down the area.

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said they could be there for another couple of days.
