Organisers are hosting the first Christmas tree festival at a north Norfolk church.

The event at All Saints church in Gimingham was oppened by North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb.

It was the brainchild of Kylie Betts, from Mundesley, who used to live in the village and was married at the church.

She said: 'We have 25 Christmas trees. I did eight of the trees and the schools, scouts and beavers did others. We have had a lot of people visiting the church to see the trees. I would like to say thank you to everyone that has helped.'

One of the trees is decorated with miniature Norwich City football shirts.

The festival is open on the weekend from 10am to 7pm, and from 4.30pm to 7pm each day next week until Friday.

The church is of historical interest with parts dating from about 1300 and a 15th century font.
