Thousands of people are expected to descend on Cromer Pier when BBC One’s Antiques Roadshow arrives today (Thursday, May 24).

It will mark the first time in the show’s 40-year history that it has been broadcast from a pier.

The roadshow normally attracts 3,000-4,000 visitors, many of whom will be bearing family heirlooms and oddities to be valued by antiques experts.

Robert Murphy, series producer, said: “It’s a great free, family day out. Our team of experts are on hand to help visitors discover the hidden history of their objects – you never know, it might just be your item that turns out to be something very special and potentially very valuable.”

Doors open at 9.30am and close at 4.30pm. Entry to the show is free, and no tickets or pre-registration is required.
