As reported, fundraising for Harry Addy, eight, from Rivermead, Stalham, to receive the specialist proton therapy treatment he urgently needs has reached the £30,000 mark towards a target of £70,000.

The youngster has a spinal cord tumour and his family needs to raise the money for overseas treatment, as it has not been made available to him through the NHS.

Mother Melanie Addy said: "The Harry's Journeys funday at Stalham Sports Centre on Saturday, August 10 was very successful. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and candy floss was a big hit. Harry loved the animals. It was perfect. We raised around £2000."

The family are hoping that Harry will have the treatment at the start of next year. He is still having weekly chemotherapy.
