A troupe of dancing skeletons and the 1980s pop duo Black Lace were among the more unusual characters featured in a production of the classic musical Oliver!, staged by Year 4 pupils at Cromer Junior School.
An 80-strong cast sang and danced their way through three performances of the show, delighting staff, parents and schoolmates with songs including Consider Yourself, Food, Glorious Food and You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two – as well as the sixties hit Monster Mash and the 1984 chart topper Agadoo.
Tara Fletcher-Rollison, who, with fellow Year 4 teachers Olivia Charman and Sara Sabbar, produced and directed the show, thanked support staff, who made sets and props, and parents, who provided costumes.
“The children have absolutely loved it,” she said. “They’ve added their own little bits to the show and even though they have had a lot of lines to learn and some of them have had to do solo songs, they have been amazing.”
