Folk on the Pier festival celebrates 21st year with ambitious line up

Cromer's Folk on the Pier festival celebrated its 21st anniversary at the weekend when it kicked off on Friday May 10.

An extra 70 performances were put on to commemorate the milestone year, attracting hundreds to the town's pubs and cafes throughout the festival's run.

The performances were in addition to the 18 sets at the pier's Pavilion Theatre and made it the most ambitious line up since its 1999 inception.

A full gamut of musical styles were enjoyed by fans, including folk-rock, country and Americana, rhythm and blues, world music, singer-songwriters and traditional folk.

Venues which took part included The Albion, Cromer Social Club, the Pavilion Theatre Bar, The White Horse, Hatter's Tea Shop, The King's Head, North Lodge Park, Cliftonville Hotel Ballroom, and Henry's Coffee and Tea Store.
