Firefighters were called to a suspected gas leak in a residential Cromer street.
Crews from Cromer and Sheringham were sent out to St Mary's Road on today just after 1pm.
Emergency workers discovered there was no gas leak but a gas hob had been left on.
A Norfolk fire service spokesman said no-one was injured.
