It has been a busy night for the fire service who have attended a road accident and two fires believed to have been deliberately ignited.

One appliance from Reepham and one appliance from Aylsham attended to a road traffic collision in Pettywell shortly before 1am this morning .

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said a teenage woman was treated at the scene after complaining of hip and shoulder pain. She was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but her injuries are not though to be life-threatening.

A fire appliance from Holt attended Kelling Heath at around 12.30am on Thursday morning to gorse on fire. Crews used back pack sprayers and beater and hand appliances to extinguish the fire.

They were called back just after 7am on Thursday morning after it was found the fire had in fact spread underground overnight to some peat at Holgate Hill. The fire was completely extinguished just before 9am.

A spokeswoman from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was believed to have been started deliberately and the matter had been passed on to the police.

At 8.17pm on Wednesday night , one appliance from Sheringham attended to a bin on fire on The Esplanade, which was thought to have been deliberately.
