Creepy characters ranging from vampires, ghosts and ghouls, to witches, werewolves and skeletons marched through Cromer, in a pumpkin parade held as part of the town carnival's 50th anniversary celebrations.

More than 40 youngsters and their families took part in the illuminated procession, which was organised by Cromer Voluntary Entertainments Organisation (VEO) committee members, who also lined the route in fancy dress, played spooky music and handed out sweets, glow sticks and prizes for best costume and best carved pumpkin.

VEO member Claire Claxton, who sported a pumpkin costume on the day, said: "We had a great turnout and even had several holidaymakers take part, some of whom are going to take the idea back to their own towns."
