Motorists fed up with delays through a village in the Norfolk Broads only have a couple more days to wait until traffic should be back to normal.
Crews have been repairing Wroxham Bridge, which has been hit by cars several times, since March 17, reducing traffic flow to one lane and creating waits of up to half-an-hour to get through the village. But the £40,000 project is running ahead of schedule, and the works team expects to have the job finished before the weekend (April 6-7). The works were originally due to take until Sunday. A Norfolk County Council spokesman said: 'They are slightly ahead of schedule and they should be gone by the weekend.'The project's cost includes maintenance on the surface of the bridge. The council warned further maintenance to the bridge is likely to be needed in the next year or so, and that work would probably need a full road closure.
