A housing development comprising eight homes could be built in Blakeney on the north Norfolk coast.

Creeting and Coast Development Ltd has applied to demolish the existing residential property, known as Kimberley, and outbuildings in New Road and build eight two-storey homes, with associated car parking and modification of the existing access.

A planning statement lodged with the application states that Kimberley was built in the late 1980s, is currently vacant and is used as a second home.

In 2009, North Norfolk District Council awarded planning consent for the erection of a glasshouse and cold frame within the grounds.

The planning statement says, “the house is of an individual design which reflects the period during which it was built rather than the character of the village or any special architectural style”.

The application and plans may be inspected during normal office hours at the council offices in Holt Road, Cromer.
