A fish and chip shop couple have been digging deep to help victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
East Runton fish and chip shop owners Will and Toyah Watson donated tips from customers, which they doubled, so that they were able to hand over a cheque for �150 to villager Adam Frere-Smith, chairman of the North Norfolk Surf Lifesaving Club.
On Good Friday Mr Frere-Smith organised a 'paddling for Japan' event off Cromer to raise money for Oxfam Japan's earthquake and tsunami appeal.
His sister Louise, who teaches English, has lived in Tokyo for seven years and was there when March's devastating earthquake struck.
She and a friend left the city shortly afterwards to spend a couple of weeks in Hong Kong because of fears about the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant, and because of water, food and power shortages but she is now back at work in Tokyo.
