East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) has teamed up with Pedal Revolution to put on two Tour de Broads cycling events in the spring and summer.

The cycling events welcome everyone, including families and seasoned cyclists, to have fun and raise money for EAAA at the same time.

The Tour de Broads Spring starts from the Sealife Centre, Great Yarmouth on May 6 and has a choice of routes ranging from 25 to 100 miles.

The Tour de Broads Summer starts from Whitlingham Broad on August 19 and offers the same distances.

EAAA’s very own captain Steve Norris will be taking part in both events.

Mr Norris said: “Flying for EAAA is an absolute privilege. I am fortunate enough to see first-hand the expert care that our critical care team provide, and it’s my job to make sure they get to scene safely, and when necessary, that we get patients to the most appropriate hospital for their needs. I am a keen cyclist myself, so taking part in this event and helping to raise the profile of the charity was an easy decision. I’m really looking forward to cycling alongside all the EAAA supporters”.

Neil Turner, director at Pedal Revolution, said: “We are thrilled to have EAAA as a charity partner for our events for a second year running, and doubly pleased that both tours will be ridden by one of the charity’s pilots.

“We are passionate about helping local people and families get out on their bikes and enjoy some time together.

“The Tour de Broads started as an event for regular cyclists but has become an event for riders of all abilities. This year, alongside our longer 50- and 100-mile routes we have a gentle 25-mile route and a family friendly five mile tour of the town’s cycle paths and some of its hidden history.”
