Forty drivers have been given words of advice as part of a clampdown on rogue parking outside a North Walsham school.

Illegal and inconsiderate parking outside North Walsham Junior and Infant School was made a priority for the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) in March.

As a result increased high-visibility patrols have been carried out, with dozens of drivers given words of advice.

The figures were revealed during the North Walsham SNT priority setting meeting held on Wednesday, April 28.

The team gave an update on their progress with other priorities, including anti-social behaviour by youths around North Walsham.

Officers said they had requested CCTV footage from a supermarket in the town where some of the anti-social behaviour had occurred and inquires were continuing.

They have also increased patrols in the Maybank and Mayfield area, where a Home Watch scheme is also being set up.

A request has also been made for a gating order for the Mundesley Road and Maybank pathway, with the aim of stopping people walking through there between specified times.

The panel agreed new priorities which are, targeting anti-social behaviour, including under-age drinking in the town, and verbal abuse to local residents in Acorn Road, North Walsham.

They are also clamping down on illegal parking in North Walsham town centre, near Mundesley Infant and Junior School and the village centre and near the Spar shop.
