A DJ who survived a near-death experience has bowed out of the music game with a final performance in Cromer.

Paul Wellings, of London, also known as DJ Madhatter, who used to write for the NME and played at Ibiza Superclubs like Pacha and Ministry Of Sound, played ska music to 100 people at Cromer Social Club in a final farewell after suffering a bad fall two months ago.

Mr Wellings said he wanted to thank everyoe who had supported him over the years.

He said: 'I wanted to repay the loyalty of Cromer Social Club and deliver the gig I had to cancel with them after my accident. 'I've had a great DJ career and achieved all I wanted to achieve but for health reasons I had to say enough was enough and hang up my headphones.

'But it's been one nutty ride with some seriously heavy rhythms.'
