The Happing Partnership has secured funding to extend Dial-a-Ride Bus services for people without transport in the villages surrounding the market town of Stalham.
£8,500 has been awarded from the North Norfolk Community Partnership's “Ideas into Actions Fund” to fund half the cost of maintaining the existing service over the 2008-10 period and extending its coverage to villages like Sea Palling, Horsey and Waxham which currently have no access to Dial-a-Ride facilities.
It allows access once per week to Stalham for shopping and personal business (Wednesday Mornings) and to North Walsham (Friday Mornings).
This expansion will also include a, dedicated car service for residents to access medical and health-related appointments in North Norfolk.
This follows a successful pilot scheme during 2006-8.
