A downpour half an hour before kick off hit crowd numbers at the Monday evening final at Cabbell Park, but organisers Derek and Rota Hinds said they still took �600 in gate and raffle money.
The historic competition normally nets about �2,000 for the RNLI, but was hampered this year when earlier rounds had to be switched away from the Cromer ground due to fixture congestion.
'People have been making some generous anonymous donations knowing we were having a tough time,' said Mr Hinds.
The competition has raised �25,000 over the last 11 years for the Cromer lifeboat station.
Sheringham took the lead after eight minutes through a defensive lapse, but Cromer deservedly equaliSed after 25 minutes. Just before half time Cromer took the lead with a controversial penalty, before a second half that was mainly one-way traffic.
