People's loved ones were remembered at a special service at Cromer Crematorium, the first event of its kind at the venue.

The service included carol singing and a 'time of reflection' where families could light a candle for a loved one and hang a written 'memory' on the Christmas tree. Rev Jennie Hodgkinson of Cromer Church led the service, and readings were done by the town's mayor, John Frosdick, and deputy mayor, David Pritchard.

Tiffanie Parry, Cromer Crematorium officer, said: 'We thank all those who attended and took part, and look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.' The crematorium, the first in north Norfolk, opened in January this year at a site off Holt Road, sparing mourners a 40-mile round trip to the next nearest at Horsham St Faith.
