A Cromer organisation which helps people living with learning disabilities has received a generous donation from a north Norfolk company.

About with Friends' Gardening Service has been gifted four pieces of equipment by Anglian Mowers, because the group's equipment needed to be urgently replaced.

Based in Cromer, About with Friends is a charity offering children, young people and adults the chance to lead the lives they choose.

Members of the group are given the opportunity to develop lasting friendships, as well as engaging in social activities and even working on their skills for life and the workplace.

The groups' Gardening Service staff and volunteers support members to carry out weeding, planting, mowing, pruning, hedge cutting and many other gardening tasks for customers.

A lot of these customers are older people who need help with their gardens.

The gardening crew also help to look after the charity's allotment in East Runton, where fruit and vegetables are grown and then used by the group's catering services and cafe.

About with Friends chief executive, Helen Dalton-Hare, said: 'We are so pleased that Anglia Mowers has donated this much needed equipment which is greatly appreciated and will enable our gardeners to continue their work in the community.'
