More than 100 objections have been made to proposals to build four huge silos within 30 metres of a country park.
Animal feeds firm Vitfoss, part of the Danish company, Vilofoss, wants to erect the silos on an industrial estate near Holt Country Park.
But the campaign group, Friends of Holt Country Park is worried the silos will damage an area of outstanding tranquillity and natural beauty, are too close to people's homes, and would also lead to a huge increase in noise from the site.
Vitfoss, which is based in Hempstead Road, Holt, said it was in negotiations with North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) about the application, and wanted to work in harmony with its neighbours.
One of the protesters, Jeff Wood, from Lowes Avenue, said: 'The country park and the Lowes are one of Holt's most popular and valued nature, bird and wildlife areas.
'The area is popular throughout the year with dog-walkers, birders and ramblers, many of whom drive for miles to enjoy the tranquillity of unspoilt, rugged natural beauty.
'Now Vitfoss wants to alter things dramatically by erecting four 55ft silos on the site.
'These ugly structures will be taller than the pine trees bordering the factory and will transform the appearance of the area which abuts the park.
'A popular bridle path leading to Holt Lowes borders the site. Not only will the silos be an eyesore, filling them will require a hydraulic pump to operate for 45-90 minutes at a time, creating a very loud noise and diesel pollution.'
Residents have been meeting to organise objections to the plan and there are almost 100 objections on the NNDC website.
Holt Town Council objected to the proposal after a group of residents made a presentation to them. The decision is now with NNDC.
John Fish, Vitfoss director, said: 'Vitfoss is in negotiations with NNDC. We are liaising with the planners on the application. 'We have been on this site for 10 years working in harmony with our neighbours. Although we want to make this move, we want to do it in consideration of the local environment and our neighbours.'
