People who have worked to create a stronger community in north Norfolk will be honoured at an awards night to take place on November 29.
North Norfolk District Council will host its Big Society Volunteer Awards ceremony at Sheringham Little Theatre, with awards to be given out in categories including 'community project' as well as voluntary services for sport, young people, older people and 'good neighbourhood'.
Organisers said the number of nominations were up by a third from last year, and would be whittled down to three finalists in each of the categories.
John Lee, council leader and chairman of the Big Society Fund panel, said 'Being involved with these awards is one of the highlights of my job. There are so many people who make such a difference across north Norfolk, and these awards offer the chance for us to recognise all their good work.'
