A care home will shut if the owner gets the go-ahead for a change of use at the site.

Roger Armoogum wants to convert Dormie House in Cliff Road, Sheringham into two homes, one four-bedroom house and one three-bedroom.

He has applied to North Norfolk District Council for the change of use.

He has run the home for 12 years and it has eight residents, but he has grown tired of the "red tape", he said.

He does not know whether he would live at the site, should the proposal be approved

A design, access, heritage and planning statement states it has nine bedrooms with accommodation spread across three floors of the original building and the two floors of the extensions.

It was built around the early part of the last century and the architecture is typical of the area with ornate and detailed brickwork and large windows.
