The Graham Allen Award has celebrated best practice in design and conservation for 36 years.

Sue Arnold, NNDC cabinet member for planning, said: 'This is a great opportunity to seek recognition for projects which have made a standout contribution to the built environment, local communities and heritage. Whether it is new build, extension, restoration or refurbishment, the award recognises excellence in all design projects.'

Originally inaugurated in 1982 as a memorial to the late Graham Allen, the first chairman of NNDC, the award scheme has recognised a diverse selection of fine architecture. Last year's winner was Wild Acres, on Holt Road, Heydon.

Entrants have until July 31 to put in their nominations and the award judging site visits are on August 17.
