People from across the country will descend on Cromer when the town hosts the annual Walkers are Welcome get-together - and there's a chance to find out more about the plans at a public meeting.

The Cromer walkers' group is holding its AGM at 7.30pm on Friday, March 23 at the community centre in Garden Street, followed by a Walkers are Welcome beer tasting session.

The group is part of a network of more than 110 towns and villages all over Britain, and the get-together will be held in the town between October 12 and October 14.

The event is expected to further raise the profile of the north Norfolk seaside resort as a destination for walkers and provide a welcome boost to the visitor economy away from the high season.

Walkers are Welcome was launched in 2007 to encourage towns and villages to be 'welcoming to walkers'.
