A motorist had to be cut free from a car after it overturned during rush-hour this morning.

It happened on Belaugh Road, Hoveton at about 8.15am.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.20am by the ambulance service, to reports that a vehicle had overturned near a bank.

“The fire service took the roof off the car and the road was closed. The person suffered a minor leg injury. It was a black Fiat.

“The road was cleared by about 10.20am.”

Fire appliances from Sprowston, Wroxham and Carrow attended, and a spokesman said: “Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to release a trapped person and then assisted the ambulance service with casualty care. The scene and vehicle were then made safe.”
