A deer ran off after it was hit by a car on the A149 at Wayford Bridge, near Stalham.
A Norfolk police spokesman said the accident occurred at about 8.20pm on Tuesday, October 22.
A spokesman added: "A car hit a deer and there was debris in the road. The people in the car were not injured, but they were shaken.
"Steam and smoke was coming from the car, but it was fit to be driven away. We moved it off the road and the fire service was called. The deer ran off."
A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: "One appliance from Stalham attended to a report of a car fire following a road traffic collision on the A149, Stalham. The crew provided casualty care and scene safety."
