Cromer-based Yes Car Club is geared to helping people who regularly need a car for short trips, and can hire one for under a fiver an hour.
It is a development of Neil Moody's 25-strong fleet of cars and vans which has been based in the town for two years.
The car club launched this month sees members paying �50 a year which entitles them to hourly hire of anything from a Fiat Panda to a van or tipper - along with discounted longer-term rentals.
Mr Moody said he hoped the club would appeal to people who wanted the occasional use of a car without the annual cost of keeping their own first or second vehicle on the drive or the need to hire a vehicle for a whole day.
His fleet ranges from eco-friendly Fiat Panda, through family saloons and seven-seaters to vans.
