A 12-year-old has been hit by a car on a major road leading into Cromer.

Norfolk Police and the ambulance service are on the scene of the incident on the A149 Norwich Road, which happened shortly before 4pm today (Wednesday, April 18).

A police spokesman said: “The person who was hit was a 12-year-old male. It appears not to be a serious injury. It is being dealt with by the ambulance service.”

The incident happened near the turning for The Avenue, and there are now delays in both directions because the police have closed the road to investigate what happened.

The spokesman said: “There appears to be a road closure while an investigation takes place.”

Motorists can avoid the area by taking Roughton Road/Cromer Road between Roughton and Cromer.
