Aylsham Town Council has applied to Broadland District Council to install it outside the town hall in the Market Place.

A document submitted with the application says "the town council has recently acquired a K6 telephone box through the adopt-a-kiosk scheme".

It continues: "The kiosk was at the bottom of Gas House Hill but unfortunately it was recently damaged and has been taken away for repair."

The council said in the document that placing the repaired kiosk in the Market Place would fulfil two important policy areas, conservation of heritage and reduction in plastic use.

The water dispenser will be mounted on the wall and fully contained within the kiosk. A water supply is available outside the town hall, and the telephone box is the only original kiosk left in the town.
