Bogus water officials target Walsham man
Two men claiming to be water board workers stole cash from an elderly man in a distraction burglary at North Walsham.One bogus official went to the kitchen to turn on the taps, saying he was having to test the supply before installing a new washing machine, while his accomplice took the cash from a wallet in the living room.

One bogus official went to the kitchen to turn on the taps, saying he was having to test the supply before installing a new washing machine, while his accomplice took the cash from a wallet in the living room.
The incident, which left the victim unharmed but 'badly shaken', happened at Reeves Court off Hall Lane at 7.30pm on Monday last week. Later in the week a series of similar raids happened in west Norfolk.
Police are appealing for anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area, or with information about the offenders, to contact Det Con Glen Taylor at Great Yarmouth CID on 0845 456 4567 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
