A sculpture unveiled barely a year ago in a north Norfolk park has been smashed and vandalised.
The damage to the piece in Cromer's North Lodge Park was discovered this morning (Saturday, June 2).
The artwork, by North Walsham sculptor Bob Catchpole, was said to resemble a bird and was made out of wood and traditional gardening tools - a nod to the hard work of the volunteers who have restored the park's rose garden.
Barry Meadows, Friends of North Lodge Park secretary, said: 'We are really disappointed that someone has decided to ruin the hard work done by so many volunteers in the park.
'We've only found a small part of the destroyed sculpture so far and it looks like it is beyond repair. We assume the vandals have thrown the rest of the sculpture in someone's garden near the park, so please look out for it.'
The damage has been reported to police.
