It is one of the most celebrated restaurants in the East of England and is one of only two in Norfolk with a coveted Michelin star.

But what really goes on behind the scenes at Morston Hall, which lies in the idyllic north Norfolk countryside, just two miles away from the coast?

In this video report by visual journalist ELLA WILKINSON we speak to Morston Hall’s owner, Galton Blackiston, himself a chef, about what has made the eatery such a success.

Mr Blackiston, 56, said: “You don’t chase Michelin stars, you just aim to do the best job that you possibly can.

“I don’t think we’ve done anything extra to try to achieve Michelin stars.”

Morston Hall was first included in the Michelin guide almost 20 years ago, and, along with the Neptune in Hunstanton, it remains the only Norfolk restaurant deemed worthy of a Michelin star.

The restaurant’s head chef is Greg Anderson.
