Sixty thousands pounds has been raised towards the £150,000 needed to help save the tallest mill in Norfolk.

Residents in Sutton are desperately trying to save the mill, but time to secure the pledges required runs out on March 31.

Plans would see it restored and become the National Milling & Millwrighting Academy.

Jon Cook, one of the directors of the Sutton Mill project, said: '£60,000 of the £150,000 required to be in a position to attempt to purchase the site has been raised. The National Millwrighting Centre CIC is asking people to pledge money to help reach the funding required to bid for the whole site. 'If they are successful in purchasing the site, they will only then ask supporters to make a payment to honour their pledges. This is the last chance to secure the future of one of Norfolk's most important windmills.'
