A village drama group from north Norfolk is busy rehearsing for its new summer production, the comedy 'A Bunch of Amateurs', which was written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.
The Aldborough Players' group is best known for its annual pantomimes.
In the comedy, Stratford Players are desperate for ideas to save their barn theatre from threatened closure and come up with the idea of inviting a big star to play the title role of King Lear in their forthcoming production.
Fading Hollywood filmstar Jefferson Steele jets in from America, but is soon devastated to discover that, contrary to his expectations, he will not be acting alongside Kenneth Branagh in Stratford-upon-Avon but with 'a bunch of amateurs' in Stratford St John, a sleepy Suffolk village.
The show runs from Thursday, June 6 until Saturday, June 8 and tickets are available from Aldborough Village Shop. Tickets will also be available on the door.
