A long-time fundraiser has raised £38,200 for a children’s hospice.
Dee Peart, from Aylsham, has been supporting East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) for nearly 25 years through garage sales, stalls, and community events.
She stepped up her efforts following the launch of The Nook Appeal in 2016, which raised money to build EACH’s purpose-built hospice in Framingham Earl.
Mrs Peart said: "Fundraising has become such a big part of my life, and it’s given me an awful lot of joy and satisfaction.
"People often ask if I have a personal connection and the truth is that I don’t, although I’ve met families that have received support.
"It’s not about me – it’s about EACH.
"It’s a charity I feel so passionately about because of my love of children."
Her activities have included tombolas, silent auctions, and regular garage sales, along with securing donations from businesses.
She organised a tombola stall on the day EACH opened its new shop in Aylsham.
During the pandemic, she raised nearly £12,000 by selling donated goods from her front garden using an honesty box.
Mrs Peart credits much of her success to the support of her family and the wider community, as well as her husband Mervyn.

"Their incredible commitment over the past two decades has been nothing short of inspiring, and we’re so grateful for everything they’ve done to help families receiving care and support from EACH.
"I hope they’re both incredibly proud of their remarkable achievements."
Although the couple has scaled back their fundraising since Mr Peart suffered a stroke, Mrs Peart continues to support EACH in any way she can.
