High Oaks Dog Field on Banningham Road in Banningham has applied for plans to upgrade its facility to better serve dog owners and trainers.
Planned improvements include a new dog enclosure, a small shelter, a replacement vehicle entrance and improved parking.
The site is used as a dog field which provides private exercise space and training opportunities for dogs and their owners.
The planning statement said the improvements would allow the business to “improve customer safety and convenience” and accommodate a bigger number of visitors.
The plans could also help the site improve its hosted training activities.
Part of the proposal includes a fully fenced enclosure for specialist training, puppy socialisation and supervised dog introductions.
The field shelter would offer cover for visitors, trainers and owners during wet or poor weather.
The planning statement also highlighted traffic improvements: “The proposal will improve visibility for drivers entering and exiting the site, reduce potential conflict between vehicles and highway users and improve safety along Banningham Road.”
