A village home will be transformed into a new holiday let for tourists after plans were approved.

The proposals were lodged by Jane Humber Davies for the property on Hall Lane in Colkirk near Fakenham.

The let will include "a large open plan living area" as well as up to four bedrooms.

A design and access statement said the let is "unlikely to disperse or cause a detrimental effect" on others in the area.

The statement added that it hopes to bring more people to the area and enhance the level of spend in local villages.

It continued: "Over the past few years, there has been a noticeable shift in the number of domestic holidays taken in the traditional off peak season, or 'shoulder' seasons.

"Such behavioural shifts provide significant benefits to local businesses and their ability to trade all year round, leading to an increase in the demand for full time employment.

"This proposed holiday accommodation will help to provide additional accommodation required by the families seeking to explore the area throughout the year".
