An amber heat health alert for Norfolk has been extended as the county braces itself for temperatures of up to 32C.
The UK Health Security Agency has now put an amber alert in place until 11pm on Wednesday, a one-day extension on the previous alert issued on Friday.
A yellow warning had been issued at the start of this week, however this has since been upgraded.
Dr Agostinho Sousa, Head of Extreme Events and Health Protection at UKHSA, said: "Sustained periods of warm weather can result in serious health outcomes, especially for older adults, and it is therefore important that everyone takes sensible precautions while enjoying the sun.
"We are urging health and social care services in affected regions to ensure they are prepared, and reminding people to look out for elderly relatives, neighbours, and those with underlying health conditions, making sure they are aware of the forecast and following the necessary advice."
Temperatures look set to peak on Tuesday, with the heat set to be highest in Thetford, which will see peaks of 35C on the day and 34C on Wednesday.
Downham Market is also set to see highs of 35C on Tuesday, while Norwich will see highs of 32C on Wednesday.
Great Yarmouth will also peak on Wednesday with highs of 28C and Cromer at 30C on the same day.
In south Norfolk, Attleborough will see highs of 33C on Tuesday.
Amber heat health alerts are issued when high temperatures are likely to have a significant impact on health and social care services.
They suggest there is likely to be an increase in deaths, especially among those aged over 65 or with long-term health conditions.
