A choir will bring the spirit and sound of Ukraine to north Norfolk this June as part of a special tour.

The Kryla Ukrainian Community Choir, based in Berkshire, will present Ukrainian Voices: Echoes of Soul and Spirit—a programme of traditional and contemporary Ukrainian music—during its north Norfolk tour in June.

The choir's name, Kryla, means wings in Ukrainian.

Olga Budnik, organiser and choir member, said: "Ukrainian song is not only music for us.

"It is memory, home, strength and connection.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity to share our culture with audiences in North Norfolk."

The choir will perform at Thornage Church on Thursday, June 18 at 5pm, St Andrew’s Church in Holt on Friday, June 19 at 7pm, and Sheringham Little Theatre on Saturday, June 20 at 7.30pm.

The programme will feature well-known Ukrainian songs, including Chervona Ruta, Oy u Luzi Chervona Kalyna, Dva Kolory, Vodohrai, and Dyki Tantsi.

The choir has invited the community to join them for an evening of music, culture, and connection.
