A heat-health alert is in place for Norfolk as temperatures are expected to creep above 30C this bank holiday weekend.
A yellow warning is in place from 9am on Friday until 5pm on Wednesday.
The weekend could see the hottest days of the year across Norfolk, but temperatures are expected to peak on Wednesday.
The mercury is set to creep above the 30C mark in Thetford and Downham Market, which will both see highs of 33C.
Great Yarmouth will see highs of 24C, while Attleborough will peak at 32C.
Meanwhile, Norwich will see highs of 32C and Sheringham will experience a peak of 27C.
The alert means that minor impacts are likely across health and social services.
These include an increased use of healthcare services, a greater risk to life of vulnerable people and increased potential for indoor environments to become very warm.
St John Ambulance Service has also issued advice on how to keep cool in the hot temperatures.
Mark Butler, associate clinical director at St John Ambulance, said: “With a spell of hot weather expected over the bank holiday weekend and into next week, taking a few simple precautions can help people stay safe while making the most of the sunshine.
"Keeping well hydrated, staying in the shade during the hottest part of the day, and applying a high‑factor sunscreen regularly are all straightforward ways to reduce the risk of heat‑related illness.
“It’s especially important to look out for those more at risk, including young children and older people, as even a small rise in body temperature can quickly become serious.
"Checking in on family, friends and neighbours can help ensure everyone stays well.”
A heatwave could be possible by Sunday, Met Office operational meteorologist Niamh Murray said.
The heatwave threshold at this time of year is 28C for three consecutive days in the same location.
