A classical music series has found a new home.

After three decades in Cromer, the long-running Cromer Music Evenings concert series has moved to All Saints Church in Upper Sheringham, which has been hosting music events since 2023.

Reverend Frank Clarke, honorary assistant priest and events organiser at All Saints, said: "Community use of churches is encouraged and their wider use for events such as concerts provides not only much-needed financial support but by opening the buildings to a variety of uses, helps to ensure their viability.

"In addition to our regular Sunday services and those on weekdays for dates in the church’s calendar, this ancient village church, parts of which date back to the 15th century, is acclaimed for its acoustics making it a superb venue for the performance of live music.

"We are very much looking forward to our association with Cromer Music Evenings and to welcoming not only their regular patrons and those who have enjoyed our events, but also music lovers from further afield.

"All will find a friendly welcome at All Saints where our current improvement plans include the installation of a new heating system intended to make the church even more welcoming."

Keith Hobday, chairman of Cromer Music Evenings, said the series will continue to showcase talent.

He said: "We will continue to stage performances of a high quality by award-winning musicians with international reputations."

The first concert of the season took place on February 22, featuring young Norfolk musicians.

Oboist Alena Lei, pianist Benedict Milne, violinist Isaac Shaad, vocalist Ben Griffiths, and pianist Iryna Olinyk performed to an appreciative audience.

The next recital will feature Canadian guitarist Evan Dim and will take place on March 22 at 3pm.
