A school's gardening club has won an award for its impressive efforts.
Mundesley Junior School children have been awarded the RHS School Gardening Awards Level 1 Award after fulfilling several criteria.
These included demonstrating an understanding of the benefits of gardening, making growing spaces accessible, using raised pots and clear signs and developing the school garden.

The children have been involved in practical projects such as weeding, planting houseplants, and creating signs for the onion beds.
These are to be harvested later this year.
The club has also planted wildflowers to support bees and other pollinators, and grown cress.

In addition, the pupils have begun nurturing sweet peas indoors, which will be transferred outside in warmer weather.
Pupils have also discussed the positive impact of gardening on wellbeing, contributing to maintaining the garden spaces’ welcoming appeal.

Ellen Hedge and Carol Hale praised the children’s hard work, saying the enthusiasm and teamwork displayed by Gardening Club members has been wonderful to see.
The school now aims to build on this achievement and is looking towards working on Level 2.
