A Cromer author who started writing after a cancer diagnosis has published his latest book

Bob Able is celebrating the release of The Murder In Manilla, a contemporary crime novel set in a fictional seaside town with echoes of Cromer.

Mr Able said: "When that shock was delivered, I knew the clock was ticking and my life seemed out of control.

"But it was just the motivator I needed to achieve a long-held ambition to get a book published."

Diagnosed with cancer in 2019, he has since written 17 books, with his debut memoir becoming the third bestselling travel book on Amazon in 2020.

While many of his books are clever, humorous, and sometimes romantic, his latest title marks a departure in tone.

The Murder In Manilla follows detective sergeant Mark Curtis as he investigates a murder that shakes a seemingly quiet coastal town.

Mr Able said: "I'm not putting the cork back into the bottle now."

He plans to write a sequel and currently has another book in the works.
