Primary school pupils explored design and engineering through hands-on activities and problem-solving.
The Think Like an Inventor event took place at Horning Primary School and was inspired by Norfolk-educated inventor Sir James Dyson.
Pupils from Reception to Year 6, along with family members, spent the afternoon building marble runs, designing paper helicopters, and constructing boats that could float while carrying cargo.
Kathryn Andrews, new head of school, said: "Think like an inventor was a great success.
"It involved children of all ages, helped and encouraged, as so often happens in Horning Primary, by many family members.
"They learned resilience and perseverance, that mistakes and failures can lead to success.
"They discovered that even Sir James Dyson had to create over 5,000 prototypes of his famous bagless vacuum cleaner before achieving success."
She described the event as a valuable learning experience and welcomed the chance to meet more of the school community.
Ms Andrews said: "We’re now looking forward to taking part in the Maths in Motion project organised by Broadland High Ormiston Academy."
