A community raffle has raised more than £4,000 for a theatre's bid to get a new cinema screen.
The fundraiser, organised by Sheringham’s Blyth and Wright, raised £4,282 for Sheringham Little Theatre and will help the charity-run venue replace its ageing cinema screen.
Chris Wright, director at Blyth and Wright, said: "It was a real community effort."
With 127 prizes donated by suppliers, customers, and members of the public, the raffle reached a climax with a fun evening at the theatre on Saturday, January 13.
Norfolk entertainer Olly Day took to the stage, entertaining the audience with a mix of music, magic, and comedy, including a self-penned novelty song in the style of the Singing Postman.
Mr Day praised the business for giving community support to the theatre, which was vital at a time when many venues were struggling to survive.
The remaining raffle tickets were drawn at Blyth and Wright’s Station Road shop the following day.
Debbie Thompson, director of Sheringham Little Theatre, said: "We always welcome support from businesses and individuals through sponsorship, legacies, donations, community fundraising, becoming a member or through people just popping in to use our Hub coffee bar.
"Without this help, and our many volunteer helpers, we simply could not operate."
The theatre is a registered charity and depends on public support for projects and improvements beyond its core operations.
In addition to the raffle, Ms Thompson encouraged the community to continue supporting the venue through donations, memberships, and regular visits to its coffee bar.
Fans of Olly Day will have another chance to see him perform at the theatre this summer.
He will return on Friday, July 17, alongside comedy partner Nigel "Boy" Syer in their Norfolk-themed variety show, If It’s Laughter You’re After.
