Pupils enjoyed a festive start to the season with a special Christingle service.
The tradition took place at St Benet’s Church in Horning on December 10, with the whole school from Horning Primary in attendance.
The service began with two of the pupils lighting the Advent wreath candles, followed by an explanation of the Christingle’s four parts—an orange, ribbon, fruits, and a candle.
Jan Bellison, head of school, said: "It was a joyous occasion. It was lovely to see the older pupils helping the younger ones with the assembly of their Christingles.
"Many of our parents were able to join us for the service; it means so much to the school to have their continued support, and where possible, that of the wider community.
"It was a heart-warming start to the Christmas celebrations."
The Christingle candles were then lit, and while a somewhat stressful interlude for the adults, the children enjoyed this part of the service immensely!
The candles were blown out before the congregation joined with the pupils to sing the Christingle song.
The service marked the beginning of the school’s Christmas festivities.
