A festive event has helped strengthen community ties while raising funds for education.

Horning Primary School hosted a Christmas Café at Horning Village Hall, welcoming families and residents for an afternoon of cakes, conversation, and seasonal cheer.

Pupils dressed in aprons served food and drinks, managed tables and created a warm atmosphere with seasonal music in the background.

Jan Bellison, headteacher at Horning Primary, said: "Opening the doors at 1.30pm to a queue of people waiting to come in was an indication that it was going to be a successful event.

"The school is a much-valued part of the local community.

"We are always exceptionally well supported by our pupils’ families and friends and many local residents.

"However, our café events create an opportunity for wider community involvement, and we all really appreciated the fantastic support we received for the Christmas Café."

The event raised £765 for school projects.

The Christmas Café is part of the school’s ongoing community engagement.

Pupils and staff have recently participated in Horning’s harvest festival and an Armistice Day service of remembrance.
