A much-loved headteacher is retiring after 18 years of leadership at a North Norfolk village school.
Colby Primary School will be saying farewell to Christine Mead at a special event on December 18.
Reflecting on her time at the school, Mrs Mead said: "It has been a privilege to lead Colby Primary School for nearly two decades,
"I am proud of the achievements of our pupils and staff, and I will always treasure the relationships built here,
"Colby is a very special place, and I know it will continue to flourish."

The school has announced that Simon Smith will become its new headteacher.

Mr Smith is currently the deputy headteacher at Mousehold Infant and Nursery School in Norwich.
On joining Colby, Mr Smith said: "I feel honoured to be entrusted with leading Colby Primary School into its next chapter,
"Mrs Mead has built a wonderful community where children thrive,

Co-chair of governors, Nick Bendy, said: "We are deeply grateful to Mrs Mead for her outstanding service and leadership,
"We wish her and Mr Mead a happy retirement together,
"At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Mr Smith, who will build on Colby's strengths and guide the school into the future."
Plans are under way to celebrate Mrs Mead's remarkable contribution to the school, with a special farewell event on the morning of Thursday, December 18.
Pupils and parents, past and present, are invited to come along, share memories, and say goodbye to Mrs Mead and her husband Simon Mead, who has tirelessly supported the school community throughout her tenure and who will also be retiring.
